Cheezee Choonz was set up on a solo basis by Barry Shafar in 1999. Since then a host of highly skilled DJs and other entertainers have been recruited to help establish us as one of Scotland’s leading disco suppliers.
Throughout the years, we have invested smartly in the best sound & light equipment, as well as installing a professional code of service, and thus giving each of our customers a high level of assurance and satisfaction, both before and during their event.
In addition to disco, we also provide various other services such as karaoke, quizzes, treasure hunts, band hire, magicians, clowns and much more.
With the variety of services on offer, aimed at all ages, and the skill at which they are delivered, it is not surprising that business continues to develop at a healthy rate.
Barry Shafar
As well as having built up the business from scratch, Barry is Cheezee Choonz's main presenter.
He is a skilled DJ and quizmaster, with years of experience in entertaining all types of crowd. From 5 year old birthday parties to corporate discos, his interactive style is second to none, and can be adapted to suit the crowd. Examples of Barry's interactive gimmicks include instructing a dancefloor of kids to walk about like zombies, or assisting half a dozen grown men doing the catwalk ritual to Right Said Fred's 'I'm Too Sexy.'Barry’s wealth of knowledge lends itself to the various areas of Cheezee Choonz services. In the musical department, he is well versed in over 60 years of popular music and can advise clients well. With his dynamic personality, he is equally skilled in his interactive style of entertainment as with his approachable style in dealing with clients.
